In June 2024, the SPIDER project, an EU-funded initiative focused on digital transformation and Research & Innovation (R&I) in collaboration with Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC), held the inaugural meeting of the Digital Dialogues Implementation Forum (DIF) and its Working Groups (WGs). This online meeting brought together 40 experts from Europe, Latin America, and the Caribbean to foster collaboration and deepen engagement in digital transformation efforts.
The meeting divided participants into two sub-groups within the working groups to facilitate focused discussions. Working Group 1, "Human-Centric Digital Transformation," addressed topics such as policy, regulation, stakeholder engagement, and security. Working Group 2, "Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion (DEI)," focused on DEI principles within EU-LAC cooperation and their application in research on digital transformation.
This report outlines the main insights gathered from the WG's discussions which will inform the project's future actions, particularly in crafting a cooperation roadmap that leverages the BELLA network to maximize digital potential and inclusivity.
