The lack of inclusiveness in STI fields can impact work in various ways and hinder effective responses to diverse and systemic challenges. Societally responsive and sustainable innovations require a quantitatively diverse research team, an inclusive work culture, and integration of the inclusiveness dimension into research and innovation content. 

The manual provides information on how to consider gender and inclusiveness across all steps of the research and innovation process (including examples of good practices for proposal preparation and on-going projects) and transform the work environment into inclusive spaces. Gender and inclusiveness should be considered a process, a challenge, and a commitment to learn and act every day to make STI fields more inclusive and diverse.
