Based on the Ljubljana Declaration of 26 November 2021, the European Union and Member States commit to promote the principle of gender equality in terms of professional equality and opportunities in careers.

With the Marseille declaration all parts reaffirm the importance of aligning the latest EU policy developments in terms of gender equality with international cooperation in research and innovation, which understands policies that strive to foster democratic values and achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda in the context of mutually beneficial and balanced partnerships.
